This website has been fairly abandoned for a couple of years, so there’s not much here. Yet.
But it eventually will house articles and tips for approaching homeschooling from a common sense perspective — which I’ve discovered isn’t really all that “common” anymore.
It seems there are myriads of voices competing to convince the frazzled homeschooler of all the latest-and-greatest things they need to purchase to have a successful homeschool.
I’ve learned a few things along the way … one of the most important being that there are lots of companies and homeschool suppliers who would LOVE to take my hard-earned money from me (and from you!). They want to convince us that our homeschooling journey won’t be complete without shelling out the big bucks for their expensive bells and whistles, or their magic box of curriculum.
I want to share with you the secrets I’ve learned over the years to homeschooling success. Success for my kids educationally, and also homeschooling success for me. I never burned out! Yes, it’s true. And I lived within an incredibly frugal budget. Some years I spent nothing on homeschooling supplies.
In case you’re wondering, I’m officially done with homeschooling now! Yep, I started with my first daughter (she’s all grown up and married now) and I’ve home educated all three kids all the way from preschool through high school.
I honestly believe that homeschooling was the best choice I ever made for my family … and it may be a great choice for yours, as well.
Lots more coming soon!
NOTE: Michelle at The Heart of Michelle blog has a personal interview with me about homeschooling. You can access it here if you’d like to kno more about me and my family’s homeschooling journey: Interview with Debi
